1. Tandem Skydive – the Most Powerful Experience Near Sigulda
If you're looking for one experience you'll never forget – it's a tandem skydive. Skydive Latvia airfield is in Limbaži – a 30-minute drive from Sigulda – offering views of the entire Vidzeme region, including the Gauja valley, from 4,000 metres.

2. Adventure Parks & Zipline
Sigulda's adventure parks are among the best in the Baltics – with obstacle courses, ziplines, and rope adventures for all ages.

What to expect: Balance challenges at height, rope crossings, cable flights, and obstacle courses among the treetops. Instructors on-site, safety equipment included.
💡 Tip: Summer weekends are busy – book ahead. Wear comfortable, non-slip shoes. Start with lower levels and work up.
3. Bobsled Track – Speed on a Professional Course
Sigulda's bobsled and luge track is one of the few in the world open to tourists. Available year-round – wheeled bobs in summer, real sleds on an ice track in winter.
What to expect: The track is 1,420 m long with 16 turns. Speed can reach up to 80 km/h (summer) and 120+ km/h (winter). One of the most intense experiences in Sigulda – the G-force through the turns is very real.
No experience needed – professional drivers control the process. Available from about age 12 (depending on season).
💡 Tip: The winter ride is far more intense – ice surface and higher speed. If you want the maximum, go in winter.
4. Gauja Valley Trails & Castles
Sigulda sits in the Gauja primeval valley – one of Latvia's most beautiful natural landscapes. Sandstone cliffs, caves, wooded trails, and three castles in one area.
Top sites:
Turaida Museum Reserve – 13th-century castle with a viewing tower and the legend of the Rose of Turaida. Sigulda Medieval Castle – Livonian Order castle ruins with atmosphere. Gūtmaņa Cave – the largest cave in the Baltics with historical inscriptions from the 17th century. Sigulda Cable Car – the only cable crossing over the Gauja valley in the Baltics.
Best trails: Sigulda–Turaida section (~4 km, 1.5h) along the Gauja. Hiking trail to Gūtmaņa Cave through sandstone cliffs. Līgatne nature trails with forest animals.
💡 Tip: In autumn the Gauja valley colours are incredible – gold and red. Combine a morning tandem jump with an afternoon castle visit – a perfect day.
5. SUP, Canoe & Kayaking on the Gauja
The Gauja is Sigulda's main river, and one of the best ways to explore the region is from the water. SUP board, canoe, or kayak – each offers its own experience.
Best stretches: Sigulda–Līgatne (2–4h) – the most popular section with sandstone outcrops and forested banks. Also the longer Cēsis–Sigulda stretch (6–8h) for the more experienced.
No experience needed – equipment rental on-site, instructors teach the basics in 15 minutes.
💡 Tip: Bring a change of clothes and shoes that can get wet. Best time – a summer morning when the river is calmest.
